I never had the opportunity to meet Sandra Cook, but from what I’m reading she was a kind, successful, classy, beautiful, admired, and intelligent woman. It will shock many to learn that a woman with these qualities could be a victim of domestic violence. I want to share Sandra’s story in an effort to remind all that domestic violence crosses all ages, sex, religions, cultures, and socioeconomic classes. The extremely gradual build-up of manipulation and abuse is the reason that intelligent and high functioning individuals can find themselves entangled in such an unhealthy relationship. Sandra’s life clearly served an important purpose. It is my hope that that her traumatic death will serve a purpose in saving potential victims of domestic violence. Whether it is physical or not, I encourage anyone in an abusive relationship to reach out for support. The therapists at Pamper Your Mind are available to be of assistance to you at 321-209-4796.
